The village owes its fame primarily to the abbey of Notre-Dame du Bec: built in the 11th century, the religious building became an important centre of Christianity. In addition to this magnificent historic monument, the village of Bec-Hellouin has become one of the most famous "postcard" villages in Normandy: after your visit to the abbey, wander through the flower-filled streets and admire the beautiful colourful half-timbered houses of the village.
