Very beautiful castle, especially for weddings with a beautiful outdoor space

We booked directly with the hotel on June 30, 2025, for an overnight stay, breakfast, and dinner for two people on September 24, 2025, and paid €163 immediately.
Unfortunately, due to illness, we had to cancel on September 20, 2025, more than five weeks before the scheduled date. We accepted the cancellation by phone; they promised to refund the paid amount. However, they have refused to refund it to date. So, never book directly with this hotel!

We got married on August 23, 2025, at the Château de Brumare, and we could never have imagined such a beautiful venue, not even in our wildest dreams. Bruno and Sylvain are adorable, always available, responsive to help, and attentive to all your questions to give you their best advice. The venue is incredible, the exterior is absolutely magnificent, and the rooms of the château have a magical charm steeped in history. You will never find better value for money; you would have to spend several thousand euros more to find a similar venue with this much space and sleeping accommodations for guests. Go ahead and visit it, you won't be disappointed!

I'm sorry to post this negative comment about this place, but here's why. Certainly, the place is very beautiful and calm, the welcome is warm and the breakfast very good. But for me / us it is completely unacceptable to have a toilet without any separation in a room. It's not because you are with your partner that you don't need privacy. My husband and I really hesitated to stay in this place even for one night... We asked for a solution and we were brought a screen, but a screen placed on a sloping wall... it doesn't hide anything... in short. It's a shame because it's the only downside, but it's a big one!
